Hello Everyone,

Welcome back to term 4! Thank you to all parents who attended their parent teacher interviews.

As part of our term 4 Integrated Studies curriculum, year 3 students are learning about 'Biological Science: Feathers, Fur or Leaves?'

Year 3 students and teachers (Ms Esra and Ms Ramadan) went to visit Werribee Open Range Zoo on Thursday, 3rd November 2016. We went on a Safari Tour and explored open range exhibits. We also learnt about some of the world's most endangered species. During the Safari Tour students spotted Giraffes, Rhinoceros, Zebras, Antelopes, Camels, Mongolian Wild Horse, Bison and Ostriches. Throughout the Walking Trail students saw many more animals.

Students also had an education workshop about Meerkats and presentation about Serval.

It was a great experience for all of us. We all enjoyed ourselves and had a fantastic day.

Welcome back to Term 4! Not long to go now and what a busy term it will be!

Thank you to all parents And guardians who attended the parent teacher interviews. It was fantastic to catch up with parents and have a close look at how our students are going. This term we are planning to visit Science Works and improve our understanding in forces and simple machines :) We are also going to build our own billy karts and actually ride them!

Grade 4s will also be attending a Zoo sleep over. This will be a wonderful experience for our students to learn their stories, some secrets and the adaptations that allow the animals to survive. They will see the animals as they have never seen before.

Here are some photos of what we have done so far. We created wind turbines and got to test them out in this Melbourne weather, we experimented with magnets, force and even friction. Enjoy!

Dear Parents and Guardians,

I'd like to thank all the parents who attended parent teacher interviews at the start of this term. It was a great opportunity to see you again and discuss your child's progress. This term has started very busy for the grade 4 students. We are once again experimenting with science in our classroom and looking closely at forces and simple machines. Students have experimented with force using magnets, friction tests and wind turbines. They are currently in the process of making simple machines in our classrooms so watch this space for our creations. We will be visiting scienceworks soon to further explore force in action.

The Grade 4s did a fantastic job at the Athletics Carnival. I wanted to congratulate them as it was the first year for them to participate in the competitive events.

Kind Regards,
Medine
